Multi-Role Aggregation Algorithm in Event Driven Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

Based on event driven district monitor is a typical model application in wireless sensor networks. There are two types of data in the network. One is periodic monitor data which carries on supervision to the state of network; the other is event message which is sent when the event happens. This paper is based on cluster topology structure, and aims at cluster header and members nodes. It proposes MRAG (Multi-Role Aggregation) data aggregation algorithm, each cluster member node adopts local estimation mechanism to determine whether to send sample data, and cluster header node adopts the dynamic weighted manner to make data aggregation according to its’ members’ data freshness. The experimental result shows that the fusion algorithm reduces energy consumption on the condition of insurance of accuracy of sample data.
