An Advisable Overbooking Strategy Leads to Enormous Financial Import

Abstract

The airline industry seems to stagger after the 911 attacks due to the growing number of discount carriers, and what’s worse, is also threatened to destroy by the escalating fuel costs. This paper develops a serious of models to deal with the problem of optimization of airline booking levels and the scientific determination of reservation policies. The dynamic and static models of airline data for determining reservation policies for airline booking are presented. Finally, this paper does a further study to make our models more realistic and practical. Our research shows that an advisable overbooking strategy leads to unbelievable financial import.
