Traffic Flow Detection Algorithm Based on Intensity Curve of High-resolution Image

A new algorithm based on intensity curve of High-resolution images is proposed in this paper, which is used in vehicle flow measuring system. According to different characters between moving objects and background, it can detect the presence of vehicles, and complete the real-time detection consuming with less time than traditional algorithm, such as background Model and Bayes Model. It can also be used in the statistics of complete multi-lanes vehicles flow. In the 20-minutes’ video test of high-resolution, the accuracy is up to 98%.
