Method of Fault Diagnosis on Inter Turnshort-circuit In Turbine Generator Rotor Windings Based on Shaft Voltage

In this paper, the causes, damages and preventive measures of shaft voltage in turbine generators are analyzed in details. By analyzing magnetic potential characteristic and the correlative variety of the electrical parameters induced after inter turn short-circuit fault on turbine generator rotor windings, frequency spectrum of shaft voltage is put forward. Based on the definite fault character, a method is found to identify the fault on inter turn short-circuit in turbine generator rotor winding. Then the relative experiment is carried out using the dynamic analog experiment unit MJF-30-6 generator, and the conclusion is consist with the theory analyses. Finally, a generator rotor fault diagnosis method, based on shaft voltage, was developed. The fault diagnosis system is developed based on Microsoft Visual C++ and Matlab.
