An Improved SET Protocol

Based on the analysis of the basic concepts, the security infrastructure and payment system of electronic commerce and the thorough and comprehensive research on the security technology, authentication and transaction process, this paper points out some deficiencies in SET protocol. In order to overcome the defect that SET (Secure Electronic Transaction, SET) protocol only supports credit payment, PIN(Personal Identify Number) digital items are modified; with regard to the other deficiencies such as complexity, slow-speed, poor safety and adaptation of SET protocol, this paper makes a model of hierarchical safety control mechanism and strengthens the security of transaction process of SET protocol with a bring-in electronic business transaction certificate authority to solve these problems.
