Due to the complexity of the physical mechanism of lightning and mathematical formula, Parameter range and large amount of calculation, at present the mathematical model of lightning simulation is always empirical or inconsistent with the physical properties of lightning. In order to bring down the complexity, and to advance physical properties, of the traditional lightning model the paper carries on the study of improving DBM model of lightning simulation. Firstly, the improvement of DBM model is researched. Secondly, the improved DBM model is applied to simulate a variety of effects images of lightning by computer. The research shows that the improved DBM model can cut time and space complexity, and save the workload of calculation.
